Welcome

Welcome To Palmer

To all who feel joy and wish to celebrate, to all who are weary and need rest;
To all who seek to discern God's call for their lives, to all who mourn and wish comfort;
To all who pray and to all who sometimes struggle to pray; and
To all who are looking for a community of fellow pilgrims -
This parish opens wide its doors in the name of Jesus Christ and says "Welcome!"

About Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church

We are a spiritual community, but we are also practical. We are catholic (we honor the rich heritage and tradition of the church), but we are not hierarchical. We are evangelical (we are here to proclaim the good news) but we are not exclusionary. We are active and contemplative. We are both pastoral (we take good care of each other) and prophetic (we challenge some of the norms and ways of our society and culture). We are biblical, but not doctrinaire. We are a fairly well-educated group and we seek to feed our minds as well as our hearts, but we don't intellectualize the faith; rather, we connect our minds and hearts and hands together.

Our mission, vision and core values guide our prayers and our actions in our life together.

Core Values

  • We welcome and provide sanctuary for all of God's children.
  • We share the grace of Jesus Christ by serving those in the Palmer community and in the world.
  • We embrace our baptismal covenant by raising our children to be active disciples of Jesus Christ.
  • We worship God joyfully and embrace the transformative nature of liturgy and music.
  • We provide food for the spiritual journey by engaging the heart and mind.
  • We support each other in our shared faith in which difference and commonalities are valued.
  • We seek to translate God's word, the Bible, into our lives.
